On May 3rd, at 11 am, the town gathered at Mesalands Community College’s North American Wind Research and Training Center to celebrate Cinco de Mayo early! Food trucks, vendors, and talented musicians all came through to make this a memorable event. It was a nice sunny day. On April 8th, 2025, the college’s nursing program made an appearance on the popular TV show 2nd cup. The program’s tremendous impact on its community was acknowledged by News Channel 10; therefore, the TV station invited the college to highlight this vital program and spread the word about its availability. Between March 31st and April 2nd, Clarendon College’s Ranch and Feedlot Operations students were on Mesalands Community College’s (MCC) campus to complete essential classes for their degree. The students completed hands-on activities in silversmithing and horse care. This was a visit of the utmost importance for these upcoming ranch operators, as they stood to gain as much as 6 credits from completing this immersive learning experience. The team showed up full of character, seeking to get the best results possible as they look to gain confidence for the busy spring and summer season ahead.
